Dr. Walton serves as the VP of Medical Diversity & Inclusion and the Associate Designated Institutional Official for Graduate Medical Education for Sinai Chicago. Her responsibilities include the recruitment, retention, and promotion of medical staff and residents that reflect the values and cultures of the patients that Sinai Chicago serves. Additionally, Dr. Walton is responsible for assisting in the support and accreditation of the five residency programs that the hospital system sponsors.

Much of the work that Dr. Walton does relates to improving health outcomes for our patients through increasing Sinai Chicago’s physician-patient concordance through recruitment efforts that aim to, not only bring additional medical talent to our staff, but bring talent that is passionate about working in underserved communities. Dr. Walton has extensive experience in coaching and mentoring. Through her relationship building, program development, and lived-experiences, Dr. Walton is committed to building a strong pathway to serving as a medical doctor to the youth in our community.

Dr. Walton is passionate about empowering her children, family, friends, patients, and even strangers with support and tools to encourage them to participate in their health, growth and development. She enjoys creative outlets such as art and music appreciation, decorating/styling, flower gardening, and bird watching. Like with flower gardening, her passion is to plant seeds in people and help empower them to build the strong and beautiful lives that they want for themselves.
